Hell Divers: Radioactive Weirdness

By: Nicholas Sansbury Smith
Narrated by: R.C. Bray
Series: Hell Divers, Book 1
Length: 10 hrs and 11 mins

I tried picking up this book a while ago, but I struggled to get into it because of the context and character introductions. Surprisingly, what kept me going wasn’t the strange world it presented, but rather my connection to the main character. The elements that were supposed to draw me in early on didn’t quite do the trick. It felt a bit like jumping in a cold lake; it was cold to start, but then I warmed up to the context. As I continued reading, the story gradually improved and ended on a very satisfying note. I don’t think I’m going to engage with the rest of the series.
