Matterhorn
A Novel of the Vietnam War
By: Karl Marlantes
Narrated by: Bronson Pinchot
Length: 21 hrs and 11 mins
In reading this book I was confronted with the ethereal face of a man in pain from fear of losing his soul. After traversing the mud-sucking pages of chapters encased in sodden boots while steeped in the fetid rot of a jungle, you too will recognize that everything has purposed to murder you and each of your brothers. But that doesn’t go far enough it wants your being, your very soul. And it will take your soul even if it cannot have your life.
This has to be one of the most sobering and amazing war novels that I have read.
