The most influential reason I picked up this book was that I was looking for more in the theme of Heinlein’s Starship Troopers. While in that vein it did not rise to the higher thoughts that were contemplated by Heinlein’s novel. It ended up being a pulp experience. I finished the book hoping that it might surprise me and take a turn for some deeper thought level. It left me with a buzz, little else.
